Olympic baths

On your marks, get set, go!

The tension rises, the spectators get up from their seats and the best swimmers in the world demonstrate their talent. A rectangular area of 50×25 metres, clearly marked out on the infinite surface of the lake, sways gently on the water.

The Lausanne Jardins 2024 event welcomes the Olympic spirit. The pool project logically complements the many interactive activities of the Olympic Park, extending them to the water’s edge and even further out onto the lake. The pool, defined by floating lanes, is anchored to the bottom of the lake. Compared to conventional constructions, the possibility of simple dismantling and maintenance-free operation are clear advantages. This project can be realised in collaboration with various sponsors interested in promoting the Olympic spirit in the city of Lausanne and offers multiple marketing possibilities.

With this play element in the Olympic city, anyone can now become an Olympian, race with their peers and measure their strength. This has a positive effect on the health of the city’s inhabitants, and improves their immune system and social relations. The project also broadens the range of swimming opportunities in the town, which today are mainly reserved for Sunday walks. The imaginary pool encourages the public to swim and brings the lake shore back to life.
